Misc Responses From Survey

.Better communication. My son was excited about the end of season party and it was abruptly & unceremoniously cancelled. That was a huge disappointment. The kids are bigger than coaches scheduling conflicts (conveniently all on the same day as the picnic) and reasons given for cancellation were not good enough. I loved his coach, Kelley, but overall communication from the NASC was awful. Shame on the club for disappointing kids with no party as planned!

.Recruit & Train Coaches who can develop players

.The U9 program has been very poorly run and not fun for the kids

.I feel that there should be relatively the same amount of playing time for each individual regardless of skill. some girls/boys play the whole game and others play very little. needs to be more fairness, this is very hurtless and creates a low self esteem for girls that do not play often enough. the coaches need to remember that this a recreational league, not the travel team. Different positions on the field should also occur more often. These are the reasons why my children have lost interest in playing.

.Coaching clinics on rules and fundamentals

.Change the fundraiser buy-out or do more to cut cost

.Use high school soccer players as refs. Get sponsorships instead of fundraisers

.I was frustrated with the Blue Mountain League scheduling. The schedule was kept secret until 3 days before the first game, then there was no flexibility in changing games. We were forced to play in the October rain/snow day that was 30 degrees until the referee said it was unsafe. 4 adults were unable to make a decision to postpone a game but a 16 year old could. Seemed kind of ridiculous. Other than that, no problems.

.Wish that there was a soccer program for the winter

.Web site was great however, I would like better directions to the fields, if there cannot be provided a direct address, at least a clear address (not 'it is near a park') but a clear numbered address of a close location so the the field can be found.

.Goalkeeper training.

.Academy opportunities at all levels - skills should be learned early and often

.#10 - Improving the quality of the current program, stronger leadership, better organization and communication between those in charge and coaches,

.More info available for winter month options, clinics

.A discount should be offered for the children of coaches

.BRING BACK UK ELITE!!!!!!! The little ones need more!

.Need to develop more specific positions for players at U-12 and above for a better understanding of the position and the game -the players at the U-12 level are still rotating positions, by this age they should have a feel for and excel in one area on the field and should understand that one area completely-still a lot of confusion about the positions and boundaries because coaches are putting the children in positions all over the field(ex. -in baseball, the pitcher is the pitcher- the 2nd base player is the 2nd base player and so on.) Why in soccer are players forward in 1 quarter and defense in the 3rd quarter? forwards should be forwards, mid field should be mid field and so on so the players can focus on one position(whichever they excel at in the first few weeks of practice. I have seen subs that are great all around players as well but most of these children are being put in positions to fill them because all of the kids want to be strikers which diminishes the training and the abilities of the players-I have also seen what I believe is unfair -that the head coaches children play the most and always has a turn at the striker position every game, and in some cases the entire game -very hypocritical if all of the other players are shuffled around the field not given the time to perfect a position -unless, of course, it is the coaches child.

.I'm a parent but I also asst coaches

.More focus on in house programs

.Developing a soccer culture among parents with use of correct soccer terms ie. "kick it", "send it" and "clear it" should be removed from ALL sidelines. Replaced with "control it" and "pass it".

.I want to see more kids in the program and more opportunities for girls teams in the 9-12 year old range.

.None of the above. Develop a consistent vision across all the various age groups. Stop using the system solely as a feeder for other programs.
